AI READY SKILLS: Expert Exam
Exam Information
The AI Ready Skills: Expert Exam is an industry-recognized global certification which enables learners to prove their skills in evolving world of Artificial Intelligence.
AI Ready Skills provides students with skills in-demand job roles, building the workforce of tomorrow and creating economic opportunity.
How to buy
Site licenses are available for schools to provide this certification to their students.
Individual exams are also available to be purchased by anyone at a cost of US$100.
Preparing for the Exam
Prodigy Learning’s certifications are designed to test mastery of the objective domains. It is recommended that candidates undertake approx. 40 hours of instruction or hands-on experience with AI before taking this exam.
Curriculum
Educators may use the curriculum of their choice to prepare students for the exam. While Prodigy Learning recommends the supporting AI Ready Skills learning pathway, the languages and technologies being assessed are industry standard and available outside of Minecraft. The certification exam itself, does not require use, licensing or knowledge of Minecraft. Educators may choose to use other materials that cover the relevant objective domains – e.g. Code.org, other online curriculum or the educator’s own resources.

A standalone practice test is also available to prepare candidates for the exam.

AI Ready Skills: Expert Exam Objective Domain
This exam tests your knowledge of coding in the areas listed below.
It is recommended that candidates undertake approx. 150 hours of instruction or hands-on experience with AI before taking this exam.
The percentage values are indicative of the breakdown of the content of the exam – the higher the percentage, the greater number of questions you are likely to see on the exam relating to that area.
Introduction to AI (10%)
- Explain what AI is in simple terms, its common real-world applications and reasons is important
- Understand the key milestones, people and discoveries in the history of Artificial Intelligence
- Describe pattern recognition and its role in AI
- Identify different types of AI and use data to make basic predictions
- Understand how AI helps in healthcare, education, and other industries
Exploring Data and AI (10%)
- Explain basic machine learning principles
- Collect and organize data for AI use
- Describe pattern recognition and its role in AI
- Explore how AI is used to solve problems and make processes more efficient.
Practicing Responsible AI (20%)
- Define what ethics means, why it is important and recognize ethical concerns in technology and AI.
- Understand and Identify AI Bias, Fairness and Inclusiveness and methods to mitigate/promote.
- Understand how AI collects, stores, and uses personal data and the importance of privacy.
- Understand real-world examples and propose solutions to protect privacy including identifying how individuals and companies can act responsibly when using AI. .

Exam Accommodations

Proctoring Exams
All testing should be performed in an area where candidates will not be disrupted during testing. It is preferable that testing is performed in a dedicated testing room but if this is not available testing may be performed in a classroom.
An authorised proctor must verify the identity of all test candidates and start their exam.
Teachers can apply to become exam proctors via the Prodigy Learning Portal.
